Activity Approximate Time Description
Arrival 8:30-8:50 Students gain self-confidence and work on independence/self-help skills by finding their cubby and hanging belongings. Students will work cooperatively with table toys.

Handwashing/jackets for outside

9:05-9:15

Students work on self-help skills by practicing proper hand washing technique, practicing opening up their juice, using utensils to eat, and cleaning up.Students work on socialization skills by interacting with their peers during breakfast. 

Students will wash hands after breakfast then get jackets on to go outside.

Outdoor time 9:15-10:00 Students work on a variety of gross motor skills to help them develop their core and upper and lower body muscles. These activities consist of running, riding tricycles, and playing with gross-motor equipment are necessities for preschool children.
Circle Time 10:00-10:15 Students gather on the carpet to discuss sharing, the schedule, calendar, attendance, and the lesson of the day. Students develop pre-academic and academic skills by engaging in hands-on activities during learning centers of their choice.
Learning Centers/Small group instruction 10:15-11:15 Students develop pre-academic and academic skills by engaging in hands-on activities during learning centers of their choice.
Music and Movement 11:15-11:25 Students play with songs and rhymes will tune children’s ears to hearing differences and similarities in how words sound. Students will develop skills in phonological awareness and phonemic awareness.
Lunch 11:30-12:00 Students work on self-help skills by practice serving themselves to gain independence and develop socialization skills through learning about proper table manners and having conversations with their peers.
Rest Time 12:00-1:00 The high energy demands of this age really need to be met by a period of rest.
Read Aloud 1:00-1:10 Students listen and participate during the story by asking and answering questions, acting out and repeating parts of the story, and find rhyming words.
Learning Centers/Small group instruction 1:10-2:30 Students develop pre-academic and academic skills by engaging in hands-on activities during learning centers of their choice.
End of day meeting 2:30-2:40 Students gather on the carpet to discuss what they learned about and the activities they participated in throughout the day.
Prepare for dismissal 2:40-2:50 Students gain self-confidence and work on independence/self-help skills by finding their cubby and putting on their belongings.
